Six-month program equips veteran and military-connected business owners with the strategy, financial knowledge, mentoring and networks to prepare their businesses for continued growth.
BOSTON, September 24, 2026 — VETRN will welcome 13 veteran small business owners, service-disabled veterans and family members from eight states to its October 2026 VETRN MBA Online program beginning Oct. 17.
The new cohort represents businesses across a range of industries and brings together entrepreneurs from across the country who are ready to take a deeper look at their businesses, strengthen their financial and strategic decision-making, and prepare for their next stage of growth.
Now entering its 13th year, VETRN provides veteran entrepreneurs with an intensive six-month experience focused on strategic business planning, cash flow and financial management, business growth, mentorship and peer learning. More than 150 veteran and service-disabled veteran small business owners and family members have graduated from the program since its inception. The program is provided free of tuition to accepted participants.
Ray Milano, a VETRN board member, said the geographic and industry diversity of the October cohort reflects both VETRN’s national reach and the broader opportunity to invest in the growth of veteran- and military spouse-owned businesses.
“These entrepreneurs have already taken the risk of building businesses of their own. VETRN gives them the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands of running those businesses and focus strategically on what comes next,” Milano said. “When veteran business owners build stronger, more sustainable companies, the impact extends well beyond the individual entrepreneur. It creates opportunities for employees, families and communities and contributes to stronger local economies.”
Throughout the six-month program, participants will work alongside fellow veteran entrepreneurs while engaging with experienced mentors, instructors, guest experts and business professionals. Because the program is delivered nationally online, VETRN also works to connect participants with professional resources and small business support within their own communities.
That network includes support from SCORE, Veteran Business Outreach Centers, Small Business Development Centers, SBA district offices and other professional and community partners. Seacoast New Hampshire SCORE also works with VETRN to help identify experienced mentors for program participants.
VETRN is an SBA resource partner and Office of Veterans Business Development grantee. The organization is one of a limited number of programs nationally receiving SBA funding to provide entrepreneurship training to veteran and service-disabled veteran small business owners. VETRN also receives support from sponsors whose grant funding helps make the program available to participants free of tuition.
