A cohort of 17 veterans and respective family members complete the first New Hampshire-based Streetwise MBA Program. This 26-week Executive MBA program is offered by VETRN, a 501(c)3, created exclusively for veterans in order to provide them with the skills, resources, mentoring and networking necessary to grow their own small business. VETRN Founder, President and veteran, Leland Goldberg, created the program to give back to the veteran business community and in order to provide veterans with the professional resources they need to become successful in growing their small business.
“It is an honor to work with so many veterans and family members to help them become successful in their growing their small businesses,” said Lee Goldberg. “Years ago, I also benefited from the type of business mentoring support that the Streetwise MBA program offers. Making the same mentoring support available to qualifying veterans and family members at no-cost has been a rewarding experience.”
The success of the first New Hampshire cohort has resulted in launching a second VETRN program that will start in June 2020 and run into November 2020. Classes will be held on Saturday mornings in Portsmouth NH. The program is designed to build operational capacity, increase revenues, and create sustainable jobs and includes topics such as business management, finance, cash flow, sales & marketing, access to capital and government contracting. To qualify, the business must be veteran-owned (or someone in the immediate family is a veteran), has been in operation for at least one year and generates at least $75,000 in annual revenues. There are some exceptions to these requirements so please reach out to discuss your situation.
“The Streetwise MBA program has been a life-saver for me,” said Dr. Deborah Osgood, CEO of Osgood and Associates. “While I have helped hundreds of individuals to start and grow their own businesses for over two decades, participating in this program provided me with the perspective and peer-to-peer support I needed to redefine my business strategy following the unexpected and sudden death of my husband and business partner of 31 years.”
Since 2015, VETRN has provided The StreetWise ‘MBA’™ program to Veteran-owned business owners and family members using Interise’s award-winning executive training program to provide education that supports business owners on their path to growth, with many accolades and success stories.
